How to disable firewalls in Redhat?

First, login as root. Then execute the following command in sequence

[root@localhost ~]# service iptables save   
Saving firewall rules to /etc/sysconfig/iptables:          [  OK  ]
[root@localhost ~]# service iptables stop   
Flushing firewall rules:                                   [  OK  ]
Setting chains to policy ACCEPT: filter                    [  OK  ]
Unloading iptables modules:                                [  OK  ]
[root@localhost ~]# chkconfig iptables off   //default enable/disable service on boot

If you are using IPv6, use these commands

# service ip6tables save
# service ip6tables stop
# chkconfig ip6tables off
